Here’s a great chance to get to know Philadelphia Flyers’ first-round draft pick Oliver Bonk.

NHL Productions has produced a “Welcome to the NHL” show that will premiere at 5 p.m. Friday on ESPN+.

The show is a behind-the-scenes look at Bonk and six other draft picks at the NHL Draft in Nashville last month. The one-minute trailer (below) gives you some of broadcast’s highlights.

Bonk (22nd overall pick) was featured along with Connor Bedard (No. 1 overall, Blackhawks), Adam Fantilli (No. 3, Blue Jackets), Will Smith (No. 4, Sharks), Oliver Moore (No. 19, Blackhawks), Carey Terrance (No. 59, Ducks) and Jacob Fowler (No. 69, Canadiens).

Bonk, the Flyers’ second first-round pick in Nashville, impressed the team at Development Camp in Voorhees earlier this month. Bonk hopes to follow his dad’s career path. Radek Bonk played 14 seasons in the NHL. The Flyers selected Matvei Michkov with the 7 overall pick. He is not featured in the show.

According to the NHL, the show will feature players welcomed to Nashville on the red carpet; awaiting their draft selection; family reactions; and meeting with media and team executives after they’re drafted.

Last year’s “Welcome to the NHL,” earned a 2023 Sports Emmy Award for coverage of the 2022 draft in Montreal.

Other airings are: NHL Network, Friday, 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.; Saturday, 3 p.m.; Sunday, 8 a.m.
