Checking Line

About the Deslauriers – Poehling – Hathaway line, Laperrière said: “I love guys like that. These are my people.

“The morning skate was upbeat. They bring life and they do that in games, too. Yes, they’re physical. They’re going to be tough to play against.

“You need a line like that especially when you go on the road, you don’t have [line] changes. When you have a heavy line like that, they have experience.

“It’s not like three young guys who don’t have experience. Hathaway, I’ve always been a big fan of his. He can play, he can skate and he’s always in your face.

“Tonight, I think there are a lot of guys who can learn from him and [Deslauriers]. [Zayde] Wisdom and [Wade] Allison. They can learn from them. You see Deslauriers and Hathaway in scrimmages, they’re playing their game. They’re banging bodies and they’re going to the net. They’re under the other team’s skin. A lot of guys can learn from them.”
