In Tuesday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • Monday’s Philadelphia Flyers game saw Kevin Hayes face his former for the first time since he was traded, and since those Cutter Gauthier rumors started. The Flyers won, 4-2, to give them wins in four straight as well as a flawless three-game road trip.
  • Philadelphia also got to welcome back forward Noah Cates from the injured reserve on Monday. The 24-year-old missed 22 games – or more than a quarter of the season – with a broken foot sustained on Nov. 25.
  • With the recent Flyers trade speculation around Trevor Zegras, I thought it would be fun to rehash some of John Tortorella’s old comments about the Anaheim Ducks star and his slick moves on the ice.
  • Cam Atkinson broke a 26-game goal drought on Saturday when he scored the only two goals in a 2-0 win over the Winnipeg Jets.
  • PhHN+: Jamie Drysdale is going to be a ‘rover’ for the Flyers, but what does that mean? We took a look at the history of the position, as well as how Tortorella has used it throughout his coaching career.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • Former Montreal Canadiens forward Jonathan Drouin returned to the Bell Centre for the first time since leaving the club in the summer and received a boisterous ovation from the crowd in addition to his video tribute.
  • On Monday, the AHL gave us something we don’t see every day. New Jersey Devils minor-leaguer Ryan Schmelzer scored short-handed on a 6-on-3 for the Utica Comets with the net empty after the Syracuse Crunch pulled their goalie on a 5-on-3 power play.
  • Colorado Avalanche forward Valeri Nichushkin entered the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program on Monday and will return to the ice once cleared by program administrators.
  • The Vegas Golden Knights placed Jack Eichel on IR on Monday, which now leaves them without seven significant contributors at a crucial part of the season.
  • Just when things were looking up for the Detroit Red Wings, the sky got cloudy again. Patrick Kane suffered an injury against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, and it’s unclear when he’ll be able to return.
