In Wednesday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • The Los Angeles Kings finally got a win, but NHL insider Elliotte Friedman wonders if young winger Arthur Kaliyev could be on the move as a frequent healthy scratch. The Philadelphia Flyers have shown interest in deals like this in the past.
  • Flyers prospect Matt Brown scored a jaw-dropping goal in the ECHL All-Star game, executing a move you have probably never seen before in your life.
  • Kevin Hayes fell to his former team in the recent Flyers game against the St. Louis Blues. Philly won their fourth in a row, this by a score of 4-2.
  • Forward Noah Cates returned to the lineup after a 22-game absence induced by a broken foot he suffered on Nov. 25. Cates looked solid out there.
  • ICYMI: Some old comments from head coach John Tortorella reveal that the Flyers’ bench boss actually appreciates the game of Anaheim Ducks trickster Trevor Zegras.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • The Columbus Blue Jackets are imploding before our very eyes; does an Elvis Merzlikins trade make sense for the New Jersey Devils?
  • Anaheim Ducks (and former Flyers) defenseman Radko Gudas returned to Sunrise to face ‘his’ old Florida Panthers, and the hard-nosed defenseman was blown away by the support from Panthers fans.
  • With 49 points and holding a wild card spot at the halfway point of the season, the Nashville Predators are at a crossroads with three important questions still left unanswered.
  • Colorado Avalanche superstar Nathan MacKinnon sat down with Elliotte Friedman for an interview that was released with Monday’s episode “32 Thoughts”. In the interview, MacKinnon talked about a wide variety of hockey topics, as well as dabbling in other sports.
  • The Calgary Flames are only open to moving Jacob Markstrom for a massive return, but is it possible they end up looking a gift horse in the mouth while holding out for that return?
