  • If you missed Sunday night’s Philadelphia Flyers game, we have you covered with our takeaways – if you dare to relive the depressing defeat at the hands of Florida.
  • The real reason why Flyers captain Sean Couturier has struggled? General manager Danny Briere revealed that the veteran has played through as many as five injuries at once this season, which is a recipe for disaster, not success.
  • Making his professional debut in the AHL for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Flyers prospect Hunter McDonald suffered an undisclosed injury early in the first period and did not return.
  • With their Saturday afternoon win over Boston, the Flyers made major strides in their quest for a coveted Eastern Conference playoff spot.
  • In case you missed it, Flyers prospect Denver Barkey made a bit of history by recording his 100th point of the season for the OHL London Knights.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • Colorado Avalanche captain Nathan MacKinnon has broken the Avs’ record for points in a season, and, while keeping it humble, will turn his focus to Peter Stastny’s franchise record for points in a season.
  • With his 49th and 50th goals of the season scored against the Flyers, Florida Panthers star Sam Reinhart became the first Panther since Pavel Bure to tally 50 in a season.
  • And, speaking of Colorado, they came back from 4-0 down to defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 in overtime, and it’s all doom and gloom in Pittsburgh now. That was bad.
  • Meier Madness is upon us: Standing up for Nico Hischier after a dirty hit from Anders Lee, New Jersey Devils forward Timo Meier went after the Islanders’ captain and let his feelings be known.
  • Sportsnet: Quietly, Edmonton Oilers winger Zach Hyman became the third-oldest player to record his first 50-goal season, doing so at 31 years and 289 days.
