Flyers News

  • Earlier in the week, the Philadelphia Flyers quietly signed NCAA free agent forward Matt Miller, formerly of the University of Nebraska-Omaha, to a professional tryout with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
  • According to a report, the Flyers and newcomer goalie Ivan Fedotov have already made “considerable” progress toward a contract extension.
  • Flyers head coach John Tortorella added context and offered lots of insight on the comments he made earlier in the week on Wednesday, letting his passion for coaching flow during the press conference.
  • For a moment, it seemed like the Flyers were one of the teams hot in pursuit of NCAA free agent Collin Graf, but they were never finalists in securing Graf’s services.
  • In case you missed it, the Flyers assigned star goalie prospect Alexei Kolosov to the AHL, making his arrival in North America official.

  • Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand celebrated National Rat Day in style on Thursday night, scoring his 400th NHL goal against Carolina.
  • The injury troubles continue; Florida Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad is out for the rest of the regular season, though he is expected to return for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
  • Detroit Red Wings prospect Jonatan Berggren has had an up-and-down season, but in the AHL, he’s been tearing things up for the Grand Rapids Griffins.
