News Breaking Out Everywhere in Flyers-land

While Aaron Rodgers dominated SportsCenter, it also was an enormous news day Monday involving the Philadelphia Flyers. And, there were some news happenings around the NHL, too.

First, the Philadelphia Flyers.

— What would make a good Flyers season? It goes beyond wins and losses.

— Matvei Michkov is on loan to another Russian team, where he’ll presumably get more playing time. Good move for Michkov, who had been a healthy scratch in three of the first four KHL games.

— Flyers announce Rookie Camp schedule. It starts Thursday and goes through Tuesday and includes two Rookie Series games against the Rangers.

— Flyers announce Rookie Camp roster. Tyson Foerster is scheduled in camp, as is 2023 first-round pick Oliver Bonk and 2023 second-round pick Carson Bjarnason.

—  Brian Boucher will join Jim Jackson on Flyers’ broadcast team. First, Boucher replaced Flyers president Keith Jones on the TNT broadcasts. Now, it’s Boucher replacing Jones at NBC Sports Philadelphia.

— Who are Flyers’ game-changing specialists? (This is from Sunday, not Monday.) The Flyers need more of them.

From around the league, Zach Parise won’t start the season with the Islanders. And Devils free agent Tomas Tatar switched agents and is considering offers. Former Flyers forward Kieffer Bellows signed a PTO with the Hurricanes.
