Bailey’s Daily: Flyers’ Bad Luck; Devils Closing in on New Coach
In Wednesday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, NHL news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.
Flyers News
The Philadelphia Flyers, unfortunately, did not emerge victorious in the 2024 NHL Draft Lottery, standing pat at the No. 12 overall pick in the upcoming draft. So, now what?
If the Flyers had won the draft lottery, they could have been in store for another franchise-altering pick, such as Ivan Demidov or even Cayden Lindstrom, had the odds been in their favor.
Former Flyers head coach Craig Berube is getting a ton of interest on the open market and could he heading to a Metropolitan Division rival within the week.
If the Flyers insist on doing the rebuild right, they need to resist the trade speculation surrounding Toronto Maple Leafs forward Mitchell Marner and stay the course.
In case you missed it, Flyers general manager Danny Briere spoke on the future of the team and his ideas behind the draft process.
NHL News from National Hockey Now
According to a report, the New Jersey Devils are considering former Edmonton Oilers coach Jay Woodcroft, as well as other coaches, for their head coaching vacancy.
Miles Wood helped the Colorado Avalanche complete the overtime comeback over the Dallas Stars, and superstar Nathan MacKinnon isn’t thinking about winning the Hart Memorial Trophy just yet.
The Vegas Golden Knights have some decisions to make after bouncing out of the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, given they’re already up very tightly against the salary cap ceiling.
Longtime NHL insider and draftnik Bob McKenzie released his updated draft list, and with the Montreal Canadiens also staying put in the 2024 NHL Draft, the list gives even more insight into who the Habs could grab at No. 5.

Bob McKenzie just released his list and Cole Eiserman has dropped to number 13. If the Flyers stay at 12 and he is there, I think he should be their pick. Could be two consecutive years of excellent players dropping on the board right into the Flyers laps.
