With an abundance of right wingers — some proven, some with great potential — the Philadelphia Flyers have some trade chips if they want to upgrade other positions such as center and defense.

Assuming Danny Briere is named the full-time general manager, he could move Travis Konecny and fill a couple other needs. Konecny, currently injured, has a career-high 27 goals in 52 games this season. He just turned 26 and is in his prime. He could bring a big return.

The Flyers’ other right wingers are Cam Atkinson, Owen Tippett, Tyson Foerster, Wade Allison, and Bobby Brink.

Meanwhile, former Flyer Jeff Carter ended a drought by scoring a pair of goals and helping the Penguins register a much-needed 5-2 win in Colorado. Carter, 38, who has been a much-maligned player in Pittsburgh, hadn’t scored since Feb. 26, an 11-game drought.

With the win, Pittsburgh (80 points) slipped past Florida (79) — which was upset by the Flyers on Tuesday — for the last wild-card spot.
