In Saturday’s edition of Bailey’s Daily, we’ll be talking the latest Philadelphia Flyers news, stories, highlights, and more from the last day.

Flyers News

  • Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella told all about the team’s future in an interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia’s Ashlyn Sullivan, and most notably, it seems as though at least one more Flyers trade is on the horizon.
  • In other Flyers news, the Minnesota Wild have emerged as a potential trade option should general manager Bill Guerin double down on his team’s last-ditch playoff push. With captain Jared Spurgeon done for the season, they will be in desperate need of reinforcements on the blueline if they want any shot at the postseason.
  • Come for the Owen Tippett goal. Stay for the comments from his teammates and Tortorella. “SportsCenter Top 10” was one way someone put it.
  • The rest of that Flyers game against the Dallas Stars was pretty good, too, as Philadelphia hung five goals on one of the most complete teams in the NHL.
  • Friday’s Carchidi Column draws some comparisons from this Philadelphia team to the Stanley Cup-winning squad of 1974.

NHL News from National Hockey Now

  • The Nashville Predators’ asking price in a Juuse Saros trade is astronomical, and that’s bad news for the goalie-needy New Jersey Devils.
  • Florida Panthers star Sam Reinhart is approaching superstar status; he’s on pace for over 60 goals and has scored a goal on special teams in eight consecutive games. No player in NHL history has had more than six in a row.
  • Does a Marc-Andre Fleury trade make sense for the Colorado Avalanche? Alex Georgiev has been slumping, and the team can’t rely on him forever.
  • Since their Heritage Classic meeting on Oct. 29, both the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers have seen tremendous turnarounds in their early-season fortunes. A lot of that has had to do with a resurgence in net for each club.
  • A midseason surge from the Pittsburgh Penguins has seen Mike Sullivan‘s odds of being the next NHL coach fired reduced dramatically.
