Flyers goalies

After Carter Hart made three consecutive starts, Philadelphia had turned to Sam Ersson against the Nashville Predators. Ersson hasn’t made consecutive starts since Hart was first injured and then sick, so Hart is poised for a return to the crease Thursday night, barring something unforeseen. Olle Lycksell, Marc Staal, and Louie Belpedio (AHL) figure to be the extra skaters.

Flyers game notes:

  • Travis Konecny is one assist away from 200 in his NHL career.
  • John Tortorella is three wins away from tying Alain Vigneault for 10th-most in NHL history.
  • Carter Hart is 5-5-1 in his career against the Capitals, with a .914 save percentage. Sam Ersson has never faced Washington.
  • Sean Couturier leads the Flyers in career scoring against the Capitals, with 13 goals, 19 assists, and 32 points in 42 games played.

Expected Capitals lines

Alex Ovechkin – Dylan Strome – Tom Wilson

Joe Snively – Evgeny Kuznetsov – T.J. Oshie

Aliaksei Protas – Connor McMichael – Anthony Mantha

Beck Malenstyn – Nic Dowd – Nicolas Aube-Kubel

Capitals defense

Martin Fehervary – John Carlson

Rasmus Sandin – Trevor van Riemsdyk

Joel Edmundson – Nick Jensen

Capitals goalies

Charlie Lindgren has been confirmed as the Capitals’ starter, which means that Darcy Kuemper will serve as his backup against Philadelphia.
