How to Watch Flyers Game vs. Panthers (11/09/2024); Lineups, Goalies, & More
After a superb team effort on Thursday night, the next Philadelphia Flyers game (5-8-1) presents another daunting task, this time in the form of the defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers (10-3-1) at 6 p.m. at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday night.
The good news? John Tortorella’s squad has a 4-1-0 record in its last five games against the Panthers, so if any team has a chance of pulling off a stunning defeat of the Panthers, it’s the Flyers.
Notably, the Flyers took down Tampa Bay on Thursday without star rookie Matvei Michkov, and it is currently unclear whether he will return to the lineup after a one-game arrangement with the press box as the team did not hold a skate on Saturday morning.
Even without Michkov, the Flyers managed to do just enough to earn a result, thanks in large part to strong individual performances from Owen Tippett and Ivan Fedotov.
Fedotov pulled off 22 saves on 23 shots and was flawless in the shootout, and given that Aleksei Kolosov was just injured, it seems likely that Fedotov will get the nod once again. It’s a big opportunity for him to prove that Thursday wasn’t a fluke.

Sergei Bobrovsky (S), Spencer Knight
It is hard to talk about the Panthers without talking about Sergei Bobrovsky, who was infamously traded by the Flyers to Columbus for peanuts all those years ago. The Stanley Cup champion and Vezina Trophy winner will face his old team in goal on Saturday night.
Despite his 7-2-1 record as a starter this season, Bobrovsky really hasn’t been all that. He heads into this Flyers game with a 2.97 GAA and .891 save percentage, but you can be assured the 36-year-old Bobrovsky will be motivated to pick up his play against a Flyers team that thrives when it has a high volume of shot attempts.
